==Geography== Tambacounda is situated on the sparsely populated sahel plains of eastern Senegal. Nearby towns include Madina Maboule, Koukari, Yoro Sankoule, Sambadian, Djidje Kounda, Afia Seno, Saare Boylii, and Kanderi Niana.
