6.9A moment after a bottle of white shoe polish pours on Jerry, Tom hears on the radio that a white mouse, having swallowed an explosive, has escaped from an experimental laboratory and that slightest jar of the mouse could cause it to explode and blow up the entire city. It is then that Tom notices now-white Jerry and concludes it's the escapee.

Il topo esplosivo (The Missing Mouse) è un film del 1953 diretto da William Hanna e Joseph Barbera. È il settantatreesimo cortometraggio della serie Tom & Jerry, riconosciuto per essere il primo in cui il musicista dei corti Scott Bradley (il quale ha collaborato per i filmati di repertorio del cartone animato) viene sostituito da e il secondo in cui viene aggiunta la frase di Tom "Don't you believe it!" dopo Jerry nei guai presentando lo stesso riverbero usato precedentemente. Il corto uscì nelle sale statunitensi il 10 gennaio del 1953.
