Thomas W. Laqueur

Thomas Walter Laqueur is an American university teacher, writer, anthropologist, and sexologist. Born in Istanbul in 1945, he holds a Doctor of Philosophy and has worked at the University of California, Berkeley. His professional interests encompass history, anthropology, sexology, and literary studies. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and has received a Guggenheim Fellowship.

Laqueur was educated at Princeton University and Swarthmore College. He speaks English and is the author of sixteen works. Notable publications include *Solitary Sex*, *The Work of the Dead*, *LA Construccion Del Sexo*, *Human Rights as Politics and Idolatry*, and *The Making of the modern body*.
