Timaios

Timaeus was a male historian and writer of the Hellenistic period. Born in Taormina in 345 BCE, he was the son of Andromachus and a citizen of Classical Athens. He studied under Isocrates and Philiscus of Miletus. His native name was Τίμαιος, and he wrote in Ancient Greek.

He died in Syracuse in 260 BCE, a city where he was also a significant place of activity. His works include De l'ame du Monde, Timee de Locres, de l'ame du Monde, Uber die Natur des Kosmos und der Seele, De natura mundi et animae, and De Natura Mundi Et Animae Uberlieferung Testimonia. He is described by sources such as the Nordisk familjebok, Brockhaus and Efron Encyclopedic Dictionary, and the Encyclopædia Britannica 11th edition.
