Tulsi Gabbard

Tulsi Gabbard is an American politician and civil servant born in Leloaloa, American Samoa, in 1981. She has served as a member of the United States House of Representatives, a council member, and the Director of National Intelligence. Her political affiliations include the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, and independent politics. She was educated at Hawaii Pacific University and speaks English.

Gabbard served in the United States Army, holding the ranks of captain and Lieutenant Colonel. She participated in the Iraq War and received the Meritorious Service Medal, Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and Commendation Medal. Her religious beliefs are Gaudiya Vaishnavism and Hinduism. She has been a member of the Congressional Progressive Caucus and the Democratic National Committee. Her work locations include Washington, D.C., and Honolulu.
