Tyka Nelson (born Tyka Evene Nelson on 18 May 1960; died 4 November 2024) was an American singer. The daughter of jazz musician John L. Nelson (1916–2001) and jazz singer Mattie Della Shaw (1933–2002), she was the sister of Prince. Her debut “Royal Blue” was released in 1988. Billboard Magazine decreed that her ''pure, angelic voice and fine songwriting'' should ''dispel the talk that she is merely cruising on her brother's name”.
