Vals ([fals], von den Walserdeutsch sprechenden Einheimischen Falsch [faɫʃ] ausgesprochen, rätoromanisch Val ) ist eine politische Gemeinde in der Region Surselva des schweizerischen Kantons Graubünden. Vals ist eine walserdeutsche Sprachinsel in der rätoromanischen Val Lumnezia. Die Walser sind Nachkommen von Oberwallisern, die im 14. Jahrhundert einwanderten und die höchstgelegenen Täler Graubündens besiedelten.
