Als Weltkarte bezeichnet man eine Karte, die die gesamte Erdoberfläche abbildet. Die Kartengrundlage kann aus Vermessungszeichnungen, aber auch aus Fernerkundungsdaten von Satelliten oder Luftbildern bestehen. Letztere werden meist so aus Einzelaufnahmen zusammengesetzt, dass keine atmosphärischen Störungen wie Wolken zu sehen sind.
