Encyclopedic overview

Huang Xianfan’s graduation photo. Zhuang studies (or Zhuangology; Standard Zhuang: Cuenghhag; simplified Chinese: 壮学; traditional Chinese: 壯學; pinyin: Zhuàngxué) is an interdisciplinary intellectual field concerned with the Zhuang people – their history, anthropology, religion, politics, languages, and literature. The majority of such research is being carried out in the People's Republic of China. Huang Xianfan (黄现璠) is considered by many to be the father of Zhuang studies.
