==History== While a date for the first permanent settlement in the area is not known, it has been suggested that the first inhabitants of the area were nomadic due to the number of 'forts and bailes' recorded in the area. Other ancient monuments in the area, as listed in the Record of Monuments and Places, include several ringforts and fulacht fiadh.
