Als Spannfutter wird eine Vorrichtung bezeichnet, die an Werkzeugen (wie beispielsweise einer Bohrmaschine oder einer Drehbank) entweder die Einsatzwerkzeuge wie Bohrer oder Fräser aufnimmt (Bohrfutter), oder das Spannfutter nimmt das zu bearbeitende Werkstück auf – dann wird das Spannfutter meist Drehfutter oder umgangssprachlich Amerikaner genannt.
