První historické zmínky z druhé poloviny 14. století (nejstarší 1360 až 1379: Czyticz) a z 15. století vypovídají o tom, že Citice patřily do lenních okruhů vysoké říšské šlechty z Horní Falce, lantkrabí z Leuchtenbergu a šlechtického rodu Nothaftů.
