After a time travel mission goes awry, a new superpower has been thrust onto the world stage and a new war is raging. The Empire of the Rising Sun has risen in the East, making this war a three-way struggle between the Soviets, the Allies, and the Empire with armies fielding wacky and wonderful weapons and technologies such as Tesla coils, heavily armed war blimps, teleportation, armoured bears, intelligent dolphins, floating island fortresses, and transforming tanks. Red Alert 3 features three sides that differ even in the way they construct their buildings. Many units are amphibious and most structures can be built on water, as one of the game’s key points is trying to give equal attention to ground and sea battles. Resources are now found in ore nodes that can be operated by a single collector unit, and can also appear in the water. Support powers and bonuses are given through the Top Secret Protocol system, which uses points as a currency that can be gained through battle. Each unit has a special ability, which can be a special weapon, weapon/mode switch, or a simple return-to-base command. For the first time, the campaign is entirely co-operative. Players can either play with an assigned AI co-commander and give them basic orders, or play with a friend online (formerly through GameSpy, now C&C:Online; not compatible with LAN). Each faction has its own campaign with 7 missions each. A strongly polarizing title, Red Alert 3 had an acknowledged but comparatively short-lived competitive focus. While its design minutiae differ a lot from prior titles (e.g. small maps, increased focus on naval play, strong efforts at making no unit useless…) and the tone of the altered universe is strikingly more camp than even its immediate predecessor at its quirkiest, Red Alert 3 still has a small but faithful fanbase. Five exciting new multiplayer maps Behind the scenes videos and trailers, including Raising the Iron Curtain Documentary, From Pens to Pixels, the Girls of Red Alert 3, Bloopers & Out-takes, the Red Alert 3 Remix and many more! PS3 exclusive Command & Conquer TV programming, including PS3-dedicated BattleCast PrimeTime and a special episode of Command School focused on tips, tricks and strategies from the development team In-depth profiles on all the Red Alert 3 units The official Red Alert 3 soundtrack

Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 is a real-time strategy video game developed by EA Los Angeles and published by Electronic Arts. It was released in October 2008 in the United States and Europe for Microsoft Windows. An Xbox 360 version was released on November 11. In addition, Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 – Ultimate Edition, the PlayStation 3 version which contains additional material was released on March 23, 2009, along with the Mac OS X version by TransGaming. The game is a continuation of the Red Alert games within the Command & Conquer series. Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 – Uprising, a stand-alone expansion pack, was released for Microsoft Windows in March 2009. It was offered via digital distribution.

Like the previous entries in the Red Alert series, the game is set in an alternate reality from World War II, in which the Western Allies fight the Soviet Union. In Red Alert 3 the Soviet leadership, facing defeat, goes back in time to kill Albert Einstein and prevent his assistance to the allies, paving the way for Soviet domination in the present. However, as an unintended consequence, a third world power, the Empire of the Rising Sun (also known as the Japanese Empire), is created and all three sides go to war. The three factions are playable, with the gameplay involving constructing building and factories, gathering resources and training armies to defeat other players. Each faction has a fully co-operative campaign, playable with either an artificial intelligence partner or with another player online. The game intersperses strategy missions with full motion video footage featuring an ensemble cast starring J. K. Simmons, Tim Curry and George Takei as the leaders of the three factions.
