Demonstratives (abbreviated '''') are words, such as this and that'', used to indicate which entities are being referred to and to distinguish these entities from others. They are typically deictic, their meaning depending on a particular frame of reference, and cannot be understood without context. Demonstratives are often used in spatial deixis (where the speaker or sometimes the listener is to provide context), but also in intra-discourse reference (including abstract concepts) or anaphora, where the meaning is dependent on something other than the relative physical location of the speaker.
اسم الإشَارةِ : هو ما وضِع لمُعيَّن بالإِشارةِ إِليْهِ. وألفاظُ الإِشارةِ هي: * هذا : للمُفْردِ المذكَّر، مثل : هذا شاعِرُ الْعُرُوبةِ. هذا أَبو الْهوْل. * هذه : للمفردةِ المؤَنَّثةِ، مثل : هذه مُذِيعةُ برنامِج الأَطفال. هذِه دارُالإِذاعةِ. * هذان : لِلُمثنَّى الْمُذكَّر، مثل : هَذان رائدا اَلْفَضاءِ. هذان قمران صِناعِيَّان. * هَاتَان : لِلُمثنَّى الْمُؤَنَّثِ، مثل : هَاتَان مُحرِّرتا الْمجلَّةِ. هاتَان صحِيفَتانِ صباحِيَّتَان. * هؤُلاءِ : للجمع مُذَكَّراً أو مؤَنَّثاً، مثل : هؤُلاءِ أبطالُ الْمُقاومةِ الشَّعْبِيَّةِ. هَؤُلاءِ مُمثِّلاَتُ الْفِرقَةِ . * هُنَا : لِلْمكَان القَرِيبِ، مثل : هُنَا مُلْتَقَى فرْعَىِ النِّيلِ. * هناكَ أَو هُنالِكَ : لِلْمكَان الْبعِيدِ، مثل : هُنَا بيْت مُحمَّد. وهُناك مدْرستُه. ﴿هُنَالِك ابْتُلِىَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ﴾.
