Il Dragone (in latino Draco; in greco antico: in greco antico: Ὄφις, Ophis («serpente»)) è una costellazione settentrionale. È una delle 88 costellazioni moderne, ed era anche una delle 48 costellazioni elencate da Tolomeo. Il poeta latino Virgilio chiama questa costellazione Anguis ("Serpente") nelle Georgiche (I, 244-246): "Quassù [sul polo nord astronomico] scivola il Serpente con le sue pieghe sinuose e come un fiume passa intorno ed in mezzo alle due Orse...".
