Gilvánfa ist eine ungarische Gemeinde im Kreis Sellye im Komitat Baranya. Etwa die Hälfte der Bewohner zählen zur Volksgruppe der Roma. Der Name des Ortes leitete sich von der ungarischen Bezeichnung für einen Baumschwamm (gilva, Gemeiner Schwefelporling) her. Das Dorf, das erstmals um 1330 erwähnt wurde und seit 1775 der gräflichen Familie Batthyány gehörte, wird heute überwiegend von Roma bewohnt, die in extremer Armut leben. Hier wurde der Maler (1928–2005) geboren, ein Roma, der als Autodidakt das dörfliche Leben und die Legenden seines Volkes malte.
