Encyclopedic overview
The New Mexico Mining Museum, next to Historic Route 66 Aerial view of Grants in 2007. Black Mesa is above town, and to the west Grants adjoins Milan. Interstate 40 bends to avoid the mesa. Grants is a city in Cibola County, New Mexico, United States. It is located about 78 miles (126 km) west of Albuquerque. The population was 9,163 at the 2020 Census. It is the county seat of Cibola County.
Grants is located on Historic Route 66, and along the Trails of the Ancients Byway, one of the designated New Mexico Scenic Byways.
