Jonathan Haidt

Jonathan David Haidt was born on 19 October 1963 in New York City, where he also resides, and holds United States citizenship. He works as a psychologist, university teacher, writer and researcher, with a doctorate and a field of work in psychology and social psychology. He identifies as an atheist.

He was educated at Yale University and the University of Pennsylvania, and has been employed by the University of Virginia, New York University and the Stern School of Business, holding the position of postdoctoral researcher. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. His notable works include The Happiness Hypothesis, the moral foundations theory, The Righteous Mind, The Anxious Generation and The Coddling of the American Mind.
