Visit Karatau Nature Reserve. There are 2 eco-routes opened for public. One with petroglyphs. The semi-abandoned town Ashisay, its abandoned mines and then Turlan pass as a part of Silk Way. Lots of abandoned mines if you are into digging. Kilometers of fun. Do not forget rubber boots. Today, the population is approximately 80 thousand, mostly Kazakhs. Population:
==Industry== There are two plants in Kentau: Transformer Plant and Excavator Plant. Both of them were famous in the USSR. Nowadays Excavator Plant is working, but not so active as about 25–30 years ago.
