Kirill Moskalenko

Kirill Semenovich Moskalenko was a Russian politician, military personnel, and writer. He served in the Red Army and held the rank of Marshal of the Soviet Union, as well as major, colonel, and major general. He commanded the 38th Army, the Moscow Military District, and the Soviet Strategic Rocket Forces. His military service included participation in the Russian Civil War, the Eastern Front, and the Winter War.

A member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, he was part of its Central Committee. He participated in the 19th, 20th, 21st, and 22nd Congresses of the party. He received the Order of Lenin, the Order of the Red Banner, the Medal "For the Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945," and the title Hero of the Soviet Union. He was educated at the Military Academy of the Strategic Missile Forces.

Moskalenko was born in Hryshyne in 1902 and died in Moscow in 1985. He is buried at Novodevichy Cemetery. He authored two works, including *Na I︠U︡go-Zapadnom napravleniĭ* and *Na IUgo-Zapadnom napravlenii*.
