Liu Shikun is an internationally renowned Chinese piano maestro, who is, as international critics put it, “a pianist with a rare magic”, and “a genuine first class pianist”. At the age of 3, Liu started his piano lessons, and he won the first prize at China’s National Children Piano Competition at 9 years old. In year 1956 in Hungary, Liu, at the age of 17, got the third prize at International Franz Liszt Piano Competition and was specially awarded for his performance of Hungarian Rhapsodies. <
