Max Cavalera (born Massimiliano Antonio Cavalera on August 4, 1969 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil) is a musician. Formerly the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the metal band Sepultura, upon parting ways with the band, Cavalera formed Soulfly in the late 1990s. In the mid-1990s Max was also involved with the short-lived side project Nailbomb. He has collaborated with many different artists whilst in both Sepultura and Soulfly. Massimiliano Antonio "Max" Cavalera ( Brazilian Portuguese: [masimiliˈɐnu ɐ̃ˈtoni.u kavaˈleɾɐ, - ɐ̃ˈtonju -]; born 4 August 1969) is a Brazilian-American musician. He co-founded the heavy metal band Sepultura in 1984 with his brother Igor Cavalera, and was the band's lead singer and rhythm guitarist until his departure in 1997. He currently plays in the heavy metal bands Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Nailbomb, Killer Be Killed and Go Ahead and Die.
