Michael Holm (born Lothar Walter, 29 July 1943) is a German singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer, primarily known for performing Schlager music. He first appeared in the German hit parade in 1962 with the song "Lauter schöne Worte", but achieved his first major commercial success in 1969 with "Mendocino", a German-language adaptation of a song by the Sir Douglas Quintet. Released in September 1969, the single reached number three on the German charts for five weeks and sold over one
