Peter the Great

Peter the Great, born Pyotr in Moscow in 1672, was a ruler, statesperson, and carpenter of the House of Romanov. He held citizenship in the Tsardom of Russia, the Russian Empire, and Russia. His religious affiliation was with the Eastern Orthodoxy and the Russian Orthodox Church. He received the Order of St. Andrew, the Knight of the Order of the Elephant, and the Order of the White Eagle. He was also a member of the French Academy of Sciences.

He was the son of Alexei I of Russia and Natalya Naryshkina. His siblings included Natalya Alexeevna, Tsarevna Yevdokia Alekseyevna, Catherine Alekseyevna, and Maria Alekseyevna of Russia. He married Eudoxia Lopukhina and Catherine I of Russia. Their children were Alexei Petrovich, Anna Petrovna, Elizabeth I of Russia, and Natalia Petrovna. He died in Saint Petersburg in 1725 and was buried in the Peter and Paul Cathedral.
