==Reproduction== At least in P. entrecasteauxii, P. pagenstecheri, and P. spenceri, a placenta-like structure is formed during pregnancy to pass nutrients to the developing offspring. Similar mammal-like adaptations also occur in the skink genera Chalcides, Eumecia, Mabuya, Niveoscincus, and Trachylepis.
