Roy Bittan (born July 2, 1949) is an American keyboardist, best known as a member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, which he joined on August 23, 1974. Bittan, nicknamed The Professor, plays the piano, organ, accordion and synthesizers. American keyboardist Roy Bittan (b. 1949) is best known as a long-time member of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Bittan played keys on several of Jim Steinman's projects, including Meat Loaf's album Bat Out of Hell and its sequel, Bonnie Tyler's albums Faster Than the Speed of Night and Secret Dreams and Forbidden Fire, and Steinman's solo album, Bad for Good.
