== Synthesis == upright=2 Tefluthrin (X=CH3) is manufactured by the esterification of cyhalothrin acid chloride with 4-methyl-2,3,5,6-tetrafluorobenzyl alcohol. The latter was a novel compound when tefluthrin was invented and the choice of routes to it has been discussed.
