Timișoara (pronúncia em romeno: ? ; em húngaro: Temesvár, ? ; em alemão: Temeswar ou, antigamente Temeschburg ou Temeschwar; em iídiche: טעמשוואר; em sérvio: Темишвар; romaniz.: Temišvar; em eslovaco: Temešvár; em turco: Temeșvar) é um município e a maior cidade da região histórica do Banato (a qual, por vezes e em sentido lato, é referida como fazendo parte da Transilvânia), Roménia. É o principal centro económico e cultural da Roménia ocidental, a terceira cidade mais populosa do país e a capital do distrito de Timiș. A cidade é servida pelo terceiro aeroporto mais movimentado da Roménia, o Aeroporto Internacional Traian Vuia, localizado 10 km a nordeste do centro da cidade. Em 2016 foi selecionada para ser a Capital Europeia da Cultura de 2021. Todos os nomes da cidade derivam do nome em húngaro Temesvár, que significa "castelo no rio Temes" (Timiș).
