Insecten Venturia is een vrij omvangrijk geslacht van vliesvleugeligen (Hymenoptera) uit de familie van de gewone sluipwespen (Ichneumonidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd door Curt Schrottky in 1902.[1] Hij noemde het geslacht naar de heer S. Venturi aan wie hij "vele zeer interessante soorten" te danken had, waaronder de typesoort Venturia argentina die Venturi in Buenos Aires had verzameld. Dit geslacht komen over de gehele wereld voor.
