Ein Aufwind ist eine örtlich begrenzte, vertikale Luftbewegung. Bei großräumigen Effekten, etwa an einer Front, sagt man „Aufgleiten“. Gegenstücke zum Aufwind sind Abwind, Fallwind, Fallböe, umgangssprachlich auch „Luftloch“ genannt.
