Vetkoek (, ) is a traditional South African fried dough bread. It is similar to the Caribbean Johnny cake, the Dutch oliebol, and the Mexican sopaipillas. It is also known by the Xhosa, Zulu, and Setswana name igwinya (plural amagwinya) and legwinya (plural magwinya) respectively.
