Viviana Sofronitzki began her music studies in the family, following in the footsteps of her father, Vladimir Sofronitsky, who was a distinguished Russian pianist. After earning a DMA from the Moscow Conservatory she came to study Early Music in Oberlin, US. In 1990 she moved to Canada, where she performed with many musicians from the Toronto "Tafelmusik orchestra".
