Вормс (нем. Worms [ˈvɔɐ̯ms], пфальц. Woms, Woams, старое название в летописях — «Верница», др.-в.-нем. Verniza, Vernica) — город земляного подчинения на юго-западе Германии, на территории федеральной земли Рейнланд-Пфальц. В Средневековье этот город был важным центром политической жизни Германии. В нём собирались Рейхстаги и избирались императоры Священной римской империи немецкой нации. Особую известность Вормс получил благодаря происшедшим здесь историческим событиям, связанных с началом Реформации, а также благодаря средневековому героическому эпосу «Песнь о Нибелунгах», большая часть событий которого происходила в Вормсе.
