Bradbourne is also one of the 51 Thankful Villages of England, having suffered no losses during World War I. It is also one of 14 Doubly Thankful Villages suffering no losses in World War II. It is the only village in Derbyshire to bear this title. According to the 2001 census the parish had a population of 116, increasing marginally to 117 at the 2011 census.
