Am 01.02.1971 kam die Gemeinde Westuffeln hinzu. Am 01.04.1972 folgte die Gemeinde Fürstenwald. Am 01.08.1972 schlossen sich noch die Gemeinden Ehrsten und Obermeiser an. Sitz Gemeindeverwaltung ist das namensgebende Calden geblieben.
