Colditz is een gemeente en stad in de Duitse deelstaat Saksen, gelegen in het Landkreis Leipzig, nabij Leipzig en Dresden. De plaats telt 8.374 inwoners. Het kasteel van Colditz werd in de Tweede Wereldoorlog (sinds 1939) gebruikt als gevangenis voor krijgsgevangen officieren. Het werd toen door de Duitsers Oflag IV C genoemd.
