L'orchite consiste nell'ingrossamento acuto o cronico di uno o di entrambi i testicoli, parte dell'apparato genitale maschile.Tranne alcuni casi particolari (per lo più orchite secondaria a parotite), il disturbo è quasi sempre associato ad un interessamento infiammatorio dell'epididimo (epididimite) e pertanto prende, più correttamente, il nome di orchi-epididimite.
