Typex

Also known as Type X

thumbnail|right|upright=1.2|Typex was based on the commercial Enigma machine, but incorporated a number of additional features to improve the security. This model, a Typex 22, was a late variant, incorporating two plugboards.

Typex (Тайпэкс) — британская , использовавшаяся с 1937 года, аналог коммерческой немецкой Энигмы с рядом улучшений и повышенным уровнем безопасности. Typex и её многочисленные усовершенствованные аналоги использовалась до середины 1950-х годов, до момента, когда начали использоваться другие, более современные военные системы шифрования.
