Allvar Gullstrand

Allvar Gullstrand was a Swedish ophthalmologist, physician, and university teacher born in Landskrona in 1862. He was educated at and employed by Uppsala University. His professional interests and field of work focused on ophthalmology. He wrote two works, including *Einführung in die Methoden der Dioptrik* and *Allgemeine Theorie der monochromatischen Aberrationen und ihre nächsten Ergebnisse für die Ophthalmologie*.

Gullstrand received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Physics and the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine. He was a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of Arts and Sciences in Gothenburg, the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters, and the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences. He died in Stockholm, Oscar Parish, in 1930 and is buried at Norra begravningsplatsen.
