Der Begriff Antithese (altgriechisch ἀντίθεσις antithésis „Gegenbehauptung, -satz, Opposition“, aus ἀντί anti „gegen, gegenüber“ und θέσσις thésis „Stellung, Anordnung“) bezeichnet allgemein eine Gegenbehauptung zu einer Ausgangsbehauptung (der These).
