پل الریخ

Paul Ehrlich (1854–1915) was a German immunologist, physician, inventor, and university teacher. Born in Strzelin, he held citizenship in the Kingdom of Prussia and the German Empire. His academic work focused on immunology, bacteriology, chemistry, and chemotherapy. He received his doctorate under the supervision of Karl Weigert and Robert Koch. Ehrlich worked in Freiburg im Breisgau, Berlin, Göttingen, and Frankfurt.

He was a member of the Royal Society, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei, and the Académie Nationale de Médecine. Ehrlich received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine, the Bavarian Maximilian Order for Science and Art, the Liebig Medal, and the Croonian Medal and Lecture. He was also nominated for the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Notable works include *Die Wertbemessung des Diphtherieheilserums und deren theoretische Grundlagen* and *Über Salvarsan und Neosalvarsan*. He died of a stroke in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe.
