دورةُ (انقسامِ) الخليةِ هي الأطوار المتتابعة من النمو والانقسام التي تحدث للخلية في الفترة الزمنية الواقعة بين انقسامين متتاليين وتختلف مدة هذة الفترة من خلية إلى أخرى. تستمر دورة الخلية لمدة أقلها 12 ساعة، ولا تنتقل الخلية من المرحلة التمهيدي حتى تجهز المركبات الكيميائية التي تحتاجها للانقسام من أحماض أمينية وليبيدات وسكريات ولذلك يعتمد وقت وسرعة انقسام الخلية على كمية المواد الغذائية التي يتلقاها الجسم.تمر معظم الخلايا بأربع مراحل وهي المرحلة التمهيدية تليها المرحلة الاستوائية ثم المرحلة الانفصالية وأخيرا المرحلة النهائية وهكذا تكون الخلية قد انقسمت وشكلت خليتين بنتين.
