Forestry is the science and practice of managing forests and woodlands to produce resources while maintaining environmental health, combining knowledge from biology, ecology, social sciences, and management. It matters because forest management shapes habitats, affects the services ecosystems provide to humans, and influences how we sustainably use forests for both human benefit and environmental conservation.
