Typ (phylum) – jedna z podstawowych kategorii systematycznych stosowanych w systematyce organizmów, niższa od królestwa, a wyższa od gromady (classis) w systematyce zwierząt lub klasy (classis) w botanice. Typ jest kategorią równoważną gromadzie (divisio) w systematyce botanicznej.
