Occurs from eastern Colombia, southern Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, Roraima (northern Brazil), to eastern Bolivia, Paraguay, southwestern Brazil and northern Argentina. In Bolivia it occurs in the Departments of Beni, La Paz and Santa Cruz. It is absent from French Guiana. It can be found at altitudes of up to 700m asl.
